Photographing this gorgeous summer wedding for Kate and Joe was an absolute treat. They'd planned everything down to the last detail, whilst keeping the whole day feeling free flowing, natural and rustic.

The day started with prep photos for Joe and his groomsmen - super chilled and they guys were great at helping each other get ready and in the spirit of things. I got some fun candid photos of them getting dressed and sharing stories of their friendship.

Then I walked over to where Kate and the bridesmaids got ready. Kate chose to do her own makeup, which became a really interesting story to tell through a selection of images.. this was a lot of fun to document and allowed me some room for creativity.

The ceremony took place at Settle's Victoria Hall, an historic building with lots of charm and character. I really enjoyed using the raise of bright sunlight that poured in through the tall windows to add a sense of drama and depth to the images.

Following a beautiful ceremony, we headed straight outside into the neighbouring gardens for food drink as well as speeches and lots of mingling, all of which provided me with great opportunities to capture relaxed, candid portraits and some more creative documentary style photography.

After delicious food and some relaxed portraits with the couple and their families we headed back into the main hall for lots of dancing and singing along to a fantastic band.

I had such a great day documenting Kate and Joe's Yorkshire wedding, making the most of beautiful light, stunning colours, summer flowers, brilliant food, emotional speeches and the hot summer sun.
